Update (October 27, 2026): Blizzard's October 26 racial tuning pass set the launch values: Endurance is +5% Health only, and Plainsrunning gives 2% movement speed per stack up to 60% with no mounted speed. This guide now shows those values.

In WoW: Forever, Tauren have four racials: War Stomp and Cultivation (active) plus Endurance and Plainsrunning (passive). Blizzard's October 15 beta notes changed all four, and the October 26 launch pass changed two again. Endurance is now only +5% Health. War Stomp's cooldown drops to 90 seconds, Cultivation's to 15 minutes, and Plainsrunning gives 2% movement speed per stack, up to 60%, with no mounted speed.

Why did Blizzard change Tauren Endurance?

The October 15 build reworked racials across the board. On the WoW: Forever podcast on October 8, Josh Greenfield said racial changes were coming in the next beta update. Endurance moved from a flat hit bonus to 2% increased critical damage and healing on October 15. Blizzard's October 26 launch pass then cut it to +5% Health only, with no hit or critical damage modifier, as part of a tuning pass on passive bonuses that skew outcomes.

How does Plainsrunning work now?

At launch Plainsrunning gives 2% movement speed per stack, up to 60% (was 1% and 30%), and no longer increases mounted speed (Blizzard's October 26 pass). It needs genuine movement: stutter-stepping in place no longer keeps it running. For a Tauren on foot, that is a real gain.

Is War Stomp still worth pressing?

Yes, and you can press it more often. With a 90-second cooldown, you'll have the area stun for most dungeon pulls that go wrong, and also for PvP openers. Blizzard's Druid deep dive confirms that War Stomp works in shapeshift forms, so Tauren Druids can use it in Bear or Cat Form without dropping out.

What does Cultivation do in Forever?

Cultivation lets a Tauren grow bonus herbs even if they don't have Herbalism. Its cooldown fell from 60 minutes to 15, so it's now a racial you can use several times per play session rather than one you forget about. Blizzard hasn't published exact herb yields, so treat any specific numbers you see elsewhere with caution.

Are Tauren a good race in WoW: Forever?

Blizzard's October 26 launch pass trimmed passives for everyone: Human Ruthless is 1% crit, Orcs lost Savage and got Command back, and Tauren keep +5% Health, a much faster Plainsrunning and shorter cooldowns on both actives. Blizzard put racial identity first, so pick the class and look you enjoy.
